A Forever Home
An older couple had sold their home and moved into an independent living apartment, where they lived for about two years. Their rent was raised several times until the monthly cost was nearly $5,000 and no longer sustainable.
They wanted stability, a safe community, and the confidence that their next move could be their last. A traditional rental left them worried about lease renewals and future rent increases, while leaving their senior community meant giving up the activities and friendships they valued.
Leslie and Ken met with the couple, listened carefully to their needs and wishes, and evaluated options within their budget and comfort level. Leslie showed them several homes, and together they found a home in a 55+ community that felt right.
Ezra purchased the home and created a long-term rental agreement designed to allow the couple to remain as long as they choose. Their new housing cost is less than half of what they had been paying. They now enjoy stability, the ability to root themselves in a community, and the benefits of a home without the burden of maintenance associated with ownership.
